Sun Charter Corfu

Cruise recommendation Corfu

Corfu, an emerald green island in the Ionian Sea, a true paradise for all sailors. Immerse yourself in a world of breathtaking landscapes, historical sights, crystal-clear waters and idyllic bays. We will show you a wonderful route for a relaxing one-week charter trip on one of our yachts that will provide you with unforgettable moments. Thanks to the numerous sandy beaches and the protection between the islands, the sailing area around the green island is family-friendly and perfect for sun worshippers. From April to October in particular, you can enjoy unforgettable sailing experiences thanks to the pleasant temperatures, moderate winds and clear water. This route is the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure, with plenty of opportunities for swimming, sunbathing and short sailing routes. Let yourself be captivated by the magic of the Ionian Sea and experience great moments under the Greek sun.

Day 1: Arrival at Marina Gouvia

Not far from Corfu International Airport, our Sun Charter base is located in Marina Gouvia at Pier A. A perfect starting point to begin your sailing adventure. Boarding, technical briefing and shopping are scheduled for the first day of your trip. While preparations are being made to take over your yacht, we recommend that you enjoy your first impressions of the island. How about a coffee, refreshing drinks or a small snack to start your trip? The Ankoretto Café with its great terrace is located directly at the harbor and is open from early in the morning until late at night. Typical Corfiot island specialties are served here on Fridays and Saturdays. As soon as your chartered yacht is ready, you can let go of the lines and set sail for Petriti (20 SM) on the very first day. A small fishing village located on the south-eastern side of the island of Corfu. We recommend anchoring in the southern part of the bay. End the day with a short walk along the harbor and a dinner of freshly caught fish and seafood in one of the tavernas.

Day 2: First route to Paxos

The first day of sailing takes you south to the north side of the island of Paxos (16 SM) to the picturesque bay of Lakka. A small place that is wonderful for anchoring and invites you to linger. It can get windier in the front part of the bay in northerly and north-easterly winds. For a change of pace, we recommend a short hike up to the lighthouse to get a great view of the wonderful landscape around the island of Paxos. You can fully enjoy the Mediterranean flair with a Corfiot meal in a taverna on the shore or a drink in a bar.

Day 3: Exploring Gaios

We continue along the western side of the island of Paxos to the capital Gaios. The route offers breathtaking views of many bays, grottos, rocks and cliffs embedded in turquoise blue water. However, the approach is only recommended in light winds. An overnight stay on the west side of the island is also not suitable. Once you arrive in the idyllic and safe harbor at Gaios, you can go on a shopping spree through the town and discover many small stores, restaurants and cafés. You can also discover beautiful olive groves in the interior of the island and enjoy breathtaking views - for example by renting a scooter. Water and electricity are available in the harbor and there is also the option of refueling.

Day 4: Sailing to Antipaxos and Parga

Can't wait to discover more turquoise bays? Then the next sailing destination is made for you - the island of Antipaxos. Surrounded by gorgeous waters and exotic beaches, the small Ionian island is the perfect place for a swim stop. However, the bays are not well protected in strong winds and are therefore not suitable for an overnight stay. A little insider tip: To avoid the day trip boats with lots of tourists on board, it's best to sail to Antipaxos early in the morning. After this short swimming excursion, we recommend setting sail again towards the mainland and the town of Parga (15 SM). Once you arrive in the port of Parga, you have the option of mooring or anchoring there. If necessary, you can get diesel here by tanker. Use the rest of the day to take a look at the beautiful little town, learn about the history behind it and stroll through the small narrow streets with a few stores. Situated directly on the hillside, you have the opportunity to visit a Venetian castle and take a moment to enjoy the beautiful view of the vast sea. In the evening, you can linger in one of the restaurants on the harbor promenade and sample the delicious Greek dishes of the region.

Day 5: Relaxed Day at the Blue Lagoon

Before the journey continues, it is worth stopping for a refreshing swim at the beautiful 2 km long sandy beach of Valtos near Parga. Sailing north along the mainland coast (approx. 13 nm), you will reach the picturesque little coastal village of Syvota (formerly known as Mourtos). It is located at the southern tip of Corfu. Small offshore bays with crystal-clear bays make bathing dreams come true. One of these is the Blue Lagoon, where the movie of the same name was filmed. The bay offers wonderful swimming and snorkeling opportunities to discover the impressive underwater world of the Ionian Sea. The fishing port of Syvota is a real invitation to take a stroll and offers many great shopping opportunities, restaurants, cafés and ice cream parlors. There is also a safe water and electricity supply as well as refueling for your yacht.

Day 6: Corfu Town

Before embarking on the final leg of your sailing trip, you will have the opportunity to marvel at the beautiful and historically valuable Corfu Town. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007 and enchants visitors with its beautiful Venetian architecture. Visit the two impressive fortresses and let yourself drift through the small alleyways of the old town. You can anchor in the bay of Garitsa or in the small harbor of Mantraki below the old fortress.

Day 7: Back to Marina Gouvia

On the last day of your charter trip, we recommend a half-day swim stop in a bay north of the harbor before returning to Marina Gouvia. There are also several tavernas along the coast where you can enjoy a delicious Greek meal with a great view. Once you have arrived back at Gouvia Marina and returned the yacht easily and simply, we recommend a visit to the Olympia Mare restaurant or Harry's Taverna for a delicious dinner. Here you can review your unforgettable trip, soak up the wonderful Mediterranean flair of the island once again and round off your charter trip perfectly.
